How does AlphaX work?
Sentinel connects to systems on site and collects operational information. Specialist agents monitor their areas, investigate changes and bring findings together through your Site Manager. You receive alerts when attention is needed and can ask questions about your site.
What can Sentinel connect to?
Energy meters, solar inverters, HVAC, video management systems, operational equipment, SCADA and BMS. Each deployment starts with a review of the systems, available interfaces and information you need.
Which protocols and interfaces are supported?
The connection depends on your equipment and Sentinel configuration. We assess interfaces such as BACnet and Modbus, network connections, system APIs and available sensor data during scoping. Compatibility with specific devices, protocol versions and video systems is confirmed before installation.
Where is Sentinel installed?
Sentinel is installed in a suitable switchboard, control cabinet or equipment rack. Power, mounting, network access and environmental requirements are checked for the proposed installation.
Does the AI run locally or in the cloud?
Sentinel is designed to run a lightweight language model and core site intelligence locally. Pulse adds cloud capabilities for portfolio analysis and wider business records.
What happens if the internet connection is lost?
Local operation and remote delivery are separate. Sentinel is designed to continue core on-site monitoring while remote notifications and Pulse require connectivity. Offline coverage, data buffering and reconnection behaviour are confirmed for the selected configuration.
How does the Security Manager work with video?
It uses connected video feeds to interpret activity and identify events that need attention. Supported cameras or video management systems, coverage, event types and privacy requirements are agreed during setup.
Can AlphaX change settings or arrange maintenance?
Specialists can propose actions for approval, such as adjusting an HVAC schedule or sending a technician. Execution requires an agreed integration, permissions and workflow.
Where will I receive notifications?
The intended notification channels are Teams, Slack, SMS and email. We agree the channels, recipients and escalation rules for your deployment, and confirm which approval actions each channel supports.
Can I create my own specialist?
Create your own specialist for a particular asset, role or operating requirement. Give it a role, choose the connected systems it uses and define what it should monitor and which actions require approval.
How is site data protected?
Data access, retention, storage locations and network permissions are defined as part of deployment. We review your organisation’s security requirements and document what remains on site and what is shared with Pulse or notification services.
What is included in the subscription?
The subscription provides the Sentinel hardware and AlphaX software service. AlphaX retains ownership of the device. Installation, specialist capabilities, integrations, support and any usage charges are set out in your proposal.
