How to Set, Reset and Delete your Current Focus and Date-Time Range for Data Science Tools

Current focus is a feature build in data science tool in AlphaX, where you can set focus on your desired device or sensors and that will remain in focus until you reset them.

How to initially set the current focus

1. On the left of your screen, within the main navigation bar, there is a section named “DATA SCIENCE”. Under this section, you can find the navigation for “Table Analysis”, “Time Series Analysis” and ‘Spatial Analysis’.

2. Then you can navigate to any of these three sections and set the focus for particular sensor or multiple sensors by searching in the select box. The picture below shows after navigating to the “Table Analysis page”.

3. Navigate to the analysis page by clicking on the “Analysis” button on top of the table, and you can see that the selected sensor is still in focus for you in other pages as well.

4. Now you have set up your focus and to add more sensors to focus or to remove sensors from focus go to any of the select box provided in Table Analysis, Time Series Analysis or Spatial Analysis pages.

5. You can unselect all the sensors and that will reset it to an initial state.

There is another way of setting current focus.Follow the steps to do that.

1. On the left of your screen, within the main navigation bar, there is a section named “NETWORK MANAGEMENT”. Under this section, you can find the navigation for “Nodes”.

2. Then select the device/s that you want to be in focus and click on any of the data science tool, either Analysis, Table or Map and that device/s will be in focus for you.

3. Once you set this new focus, the previous focus will go away.

How to set the date-time range

Date-Time Range is a feature build in data science tool in AlphaX and you can change the date-time range and it will save for you alone with the current focus unless you change it again.

1. To change the date-time range, click on the ‘Calendar-time’ widget displayed on the top-right corner of the Table analysis page or Time series analysis page. You can select a date-time range to view and analyse your data.

2. In this example the last 48 hours will be selected as the date-time range and it will remain for both of the Table analysis page and Time series analysis page unless you change it again.

3. Always the date-time range remains as last 48 hours from the time you visit the page unless you change it. Just suppose if you visit the page after 7 days, then it will be last 48 hours from the time you visit the page.

4. If you navigate to Table Analysis from Time Series Analysis by clicking on the “Table” button on the top of the graph , it will also show the results for the last 48 hours from the time you visit the page.

Use Case: If you want to analyse your data for every last 7 days, then you can set the focus for the sensors you want to analyse and set the date-time range as last 7 days. In that way you do not want to set up the focus and time range again. You can log into AlphaX after 7 days and view your data without setting the focus and date-time range for your desired sensors again.
